About the Event

Mike Shaughnessy’s Complete Player Academy

 5 Days + 10 Hours Each Day = 50 Hours of Work  Ages: 13 - 17 20 Players Selected: Must Apply!  

Tentative Schedule (Summary)

  • 7:00am - 9:00am: Breakfast Club
  • 9:00am - 12:00pm: Morning Session
  • 12:00pm - 1:00pm: Lunch (Included)
  • 1:00pm - 2:00pm: Leadership
  • 2:00pm - 4:00pm: Afternoon Session
  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm: Games
  • 5:00pm: Closing

What does it include: 

  • Selected Guest Coaches/Trainers from across the country
  • Combine Style Training that will provide assessments for each player on the court and in the weight room. 
  • Nutritional Plan: A guide to eating a healthy, clean, and being able to perform at a high level. 

What do you receive: 

  1. Each player will receive a binder where they will take notes, track their progress during the week, and be able to take knowledge home to grow from.
  2. Gear: Players will receive shirts, shorts, and a jersey that they will wear throughout the week of camp. 
  3. Professional photographer & videographer will be grabbing footage of the camp all week where the content will be available for the parents/players in a digital folder. 
  4. Evaluation: Each player will receive an evaluation from Coach Shaughnessy giving them detailed insight on their strengths, weaknesses, and an action plan on how to improve.

Player Development Approach: 

  • Coach Shaughnessy is all about the full meaning of PLAYER + DEVELOPMENT               
    • Serve the player, bettering them not just as a player, but as a person. 
    • Teaching skills that apply on the court and to every day life. 
    • "Kaizen" Mindset: Small Changes that lead to continuous improvement each day, eventually growing to long-term success.

      Mike Shaughnessy Player Development Model  

  • Leadership: Players will go through leadership exercises all week during camp that will help them grow as people.
  • Film Study: Detailed film study sessions where players will become students of the game, learn to view the game from a different perspective, and enhance their IQ.
  • Athletic Performance: Players will go through a pro-level program on the athletic performance side going through everything from strength training, speed & agility, to learning how to recover. (Strength training is teetered towards each age group).                
    • Younger Athletes: Body weight exercises
    • Older Athletes: Intro to weight training


  • High Level Skills Training: Player will go through Coach Mike’s own player development model.               
    • Players will go through the progression based program:                           
      • Footwork Breakdowns
      • Skills Building + Game Repetition
      • Situational Games


    • Games: Players will compete at the end of each day focusing on transitioning everything they worked on throughout the course of the day.
