Before starting his career as a basketball coach & trainer, Mike attended his first 2 years of high school at St. Augustine Prep in Richland, NJ, where he played JV as a freshman and worked tirelessly all summer to be named the starting PG as a sophomore playing alongside Division 1 prospects finishing the year 19-8. Mike finished his high school career at Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, NJ as a two-year started and captain. It was Mike’s dream to play college basketball ever since he was in elementary school. As he was often overlooked as a college prospect in high school, he did everything he could to attract schools to recruit him. From spending countless hours in the gym, to creating recruiting profiles, filling out questionnaires, to attending numerous exposure camps, it eventually earned him the opportunity to continue his playing career at Kean University in Union, NJ. Mike now uses this experience to help other athletes that aspire to play at the next level.

As Mike began his career at Kean, he went from not knowing how much time he would earn, to being named the starting PG as a freshman. “If you put in the work and commit to getting better each day, the results will show,” Mike shares. He went on to finish his career as a 4-year starter, 3-year captain and 2nd All-Time is Total Assists. His playing career has allowed him to learn, meet and experience so many things that gives him the benefit of being able to relate to every player that he works with.

Once Mike finished his playing career, he was fortunate enough to join the coaching staff at his alma mater. He was on staff for 3 years moving up the ranks where he was the Associate Head Coach in his final year on staff. Mike learned the ins and outs of the college coaching profession by breaking down film, being on the road recruiting each night, preparing for opponents, scouting and game planning for the team. Mike learned so much about the game and the little nuances that could help players really get the results they need. He decided to leave the university after 3 great years and began his own basketball training business in southern New Jersey where he grew up.

Over the past 7 years growing his business, Mike has been blessed to work with countless numbers of athletes both locally, throughout the US, and China. He has been a head coach at the middle school level, an assistant for a girls high school program and most recently, an assistant men’s coach for 2 years at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ. In 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Mike and his fiancee, Natalie, decided to move to the San Francisco Bay Area where Mike was named the Head Coach of the Northgate Boys Basketball program in Walnut Creek. Since the relocation, Mike has begun to grow his training brand in the area and share his knowledge and experience with the players he currently has in the gym and travels to work with across the Bay Area. He has also created a coaching platform where he strives to help coaches/trainers improve their understanding for the game.

Mike is confident that his comprehension for the game, passion on the court and the importance of building a relationships with each athlete is what separates him from anyone else; having players leave the gym knowing they will get the results they seek.
